Und weiter gehts mit der Leasingflotte. Helm lackiert seine GP38 Loks zur Zeit in ein dunkelrotes Farbschema um. Eine gute Gelegenheit weiter mit Zurüstteilen zu experimentieren.

Let's continue with super detailing and adding a new loco to my roster. Helm repaints their GP38 units into a red only paint scheme with black frame and trucks. This is a good project to rise my modeling skills.
Zunächst wurden mir dem Glaspinsel die Beschriftungen entfernt, da diese beim Lackieren durchschimmern würden. Dann wurden die angedeuteten Liftrings, alle hintern und vorderen Griffstangen entfernt. Das Horn wurde ebenfalls vom Cab entfernt und wird zwischen dynamischer Bremse und Lüftern wiede rmontiert.

At first I removed the lettering with a glass brush. If you only use alcohol or paint thinner the shadows of the old lettering will be visible after repainting. The I cut off the fake lift rings, all grabs irons and removed the horn from the cab. The horn will be moved to the long hodd between the dynamic brakes and the back fans.
Am Führerhaus wurden Sonnenblende ergänzt. Ich habe pro Sonnenblende zwei 0,3mm Löcher gebohrt. Anschließen wurde über die Länge sehr dünn Sekundenkleber aufgetragen und die Blenden mit den Haltepins in die Löcher gesteckt. Vielleicht ergänze ich auch noch Druluftleitung und MU-Verbindungen am Rahmen.

After drilling two 0,3mm holes on each side of the cab I used super glue to secure the sun shades. The next step will be more sanding and then painting. Maybe I'll add mu hoses and train line to the pilots.
