Um meinen Bestand an Woodchip Gondolas zu erweitern hatte ich drei SOUTHERN Woodchip gondolas gekauft. Die Southern war natürlich nicht in Kalifornien aktiv, also war von anfang an klar, dass diese Wagen umlackiert werden müssen. Da ich beriets zwei Wagen in Greenbrier Leasing geändert hatte (ein Northern Pacific und ein Burlington Northern) werdne die drei neuen Wagen nun aus dem Bestand der Great Northenr sein. Als erster Schritt wurden die Drehgestelle entfernt. Danach wurden die Wagen in Isopropanol gelegt und dann mit einem Wattepad unter mittlerem Druck abgerieben. Die Beschriftung ging restlos ab. Nachdem die Wagen unter Wasser abgespühlt wurden bildeten sich beim trocknen Restfarbrückstände. Diese lassen sich aber einfach abbürsten.

To have more woodchip gondolas for operation sessions I bought three deluxe innovations SOUTHERN woodchip gondolas. OK, the SOU never operted in California, so I had to repaint them. I already created two Greenbrier Leasing woodchip gondolas (one NP and one BN) so the three others should wear GBRX reporting marks, too. I decided to create GBRX cars from former Greath Northern stock. So the first step is so build three GN woodhcip cars. I started with removing the trucks. After that I gave the three cars an Isopropanol alcohol bath. After a few minutes I could easily remove the lettering with a soft cotton pad. After that I washed the car body with fresh water so the plasctics don't get damaged. While drying a soft patina of white plastic/colour rest appeared. It can easily be brushed away.
